Saint Innocence (285-300) was born in Monte Tauro of noble family, in the hinterland of Rimini around in 285. In the year 300 the emperor Diocleziano, passing for Rimini, summoned a big group of Christians; and noticed, among the people, the young and beautiful Innocence and made her some proposals that the young girl rejected, proudly proclaiming her faith.

The emperor, disdained, tried to make to surrender her with the tortures; departing, it ordered Sebastiano to his proconsole to force the girl to his purposal with any mean. Sebastiano granted to Innocence three days to meditate on her fate, at the end of which it sent some soldiers to the palace of Tauro Mountain to listen what the young girl had decided. She was found praying; furious, the soldiers pierced her breast with a sword, the 16 of September. Innocence was buried - with many other martyrs - in the cemetery of Lagomaggio.
This the tradition, stereotyped and flood of incongruities and anachronisms; the cult of the holy Innocence it seems nevertheless rather ancient.
