From September 10 to 12 Smiting goes back to Rimini, one of the most amazing festivals in Italy. Through its irony, the Smiting is discrediting the daily fees.
The Smiting has arrived at the second edition which celebrates the spontaneity, the surprise and the nonsense which lives in each one of us. Watchword of Smiting: No specific limitation. The second edition of Smiting is entitled "Grammelot: Me kid, you?"
The grammelot is an acting technique that combines sounds, onomatopoeia, words and phonemes apparently meaningless. This technique was used by actors to make themselves understood in a foreign language. Actors who cannot communicate in a specific language can convey their thoughts through gestures and facial expressions. This "language" is typical of little children, who can be understood using body language (gestures and expression) and few words. This communication technique has been used by Dario Fo in his work "Mistero Buffo" presented in 1969.
This year's edition aims to enhance children's language. Children have no cultural barriers, prejudice and behavioral conditioning and can express their emotions and feelings through a direct and essential way of communication.
