Rimini's Heroes in the Process of Italy's Unification

Many young people departed from Rimini to participate in the process of unification of Italy. Among them we find that the marignanese Respice Olmeda who, on August 9 1866, telegraphed his famous reply to King Vittorio Emanuele II, the hero of two worlds: "I obey." Giuseppe Garibaldi spoke these words during the Third War of Independence in Bezzecca, where he stopped on the orders of the king.
