Rimini Lost a Great Painter: Armido della Bartola

Armido della Bartola was born in 1919 in San Mauro, as the son of a shoemaker and a farmer, and since a little child he developed a critical approach to reality. The painter of Rimini expressed in his works a critical attitude against the world, which transpired strength and power primarily by a polychrome paint of blues, green and blue of the sea and sky.
Bartola represented Rimini, the sea and the humble, the poor of the city. In 2008, the Savings Bank Foundation devoted a volume, which contained many of his works, including the thirteen paintings depicting the Rimini in 1944, destroyed, marked, as if all this had happened yesterday.
The great painter of Rimini over the years has never abandoned his passion for painting, and was always ready to express his ideas and beliefs, as the battle against nuclear power. The son, speaking on behalf of the family, remembers him as a sincere person, ready to criticize and never to take sides politically.
Armido della Bartola left two daughters, Daniella and Donatella. The funeral was held this morning at the church of San Girolamo, in Viale Principe Amedeo, at 11 am.
