Rimini: Casa dell'Acqua/ House of Water Project

The commissioner of Public Works of the Municipality of Rimini, Juri Magrini, and representatives of institutions that have contributed to its realization attended the inauguration. Tonino Bernabe, vice president of Romagna Acque - Scoeita delle Fonti, Roberto Fabbri responsible for local government Hera Sot Rimini, Andrea Montanari, Director of 'Water Ltd Adriatica were also present.
The new "House of water" was created with the goal of reducing waste and environmental impact caused by the consumption of bottled water. In fact, thanks to a regulator, connected to the main water supply, which distributes chilled water without adding any treatment, people can have fresh water available both natural and carbonated, with no need to use storage facilities and above all avoid the disposal of empty containers. The distribution will be free of charge for plain water, while fresh sparkling water requires a contribution of 5 cents / lt. for the cost of carbon needed to produce the carbonated water. The system will operate from 7 am to 10 pm during the winter while during summer (from May 1 to September 30) will be open from 6 am to 11pm. The new "House of water " is located within the park Alcide Cervi, near the entrance of Via Nigra, a visible area and central to town and easily accessible from the pedestrian path. The construction of the new "House of Water" it's part of the project of cooperation between the Municipality of Rimini, Romagna Acque SpA and Gruppo Hera, for the promotion of good practice for the Protection of 'environment.
