Riccione says Goodbye to Miss Italy

The meeting held in Riccione did not have a positive development. After a careful analysis of the city's resources and conditions required by the Miss Italy beauty contest, it was concluded that at least this year, Riccione will not be able to hostthe coveted competition . Mayor Massimo Pironi said that iin Riccione unfortunately there are no conditions and four months is a too short period to organize an event of this magnitude. Another issue that brought this decision was the request from the organizers of the contest to have a four-star hotel since the first day of August until mid-September. Pironi said that it would be impossible to offer a similar availability of accommodation in the middle of the season. Pironi also said that he will personally contact Mirigliani Patrick, the patron of the event, to see if Riccione could host the event in 2012.
