The fortieth edition of the International Theatre Festival of Piazza di Santarcangelo (held from July 9 to 18) and directed by Enrico Casagrande of Motus with the collaboration of Rodolfo Sacchettini and Daniela Nicolò, was certainly one of the best editions of the last decade.
Motus is a theatrical company created in Rimini in 1991 by Enrico Casagrande and Daniela Nicolò. The participation in national and international events and festivals, since the mid-nineties gave the Company a great reputation. Their bibliography is very rich and their theater is a very dinamic one. It invites you to participate, to commit in order to understand and to take nothing for granted. Motus is a Latin word and means motion, and thus the idea of dinamic art making.
This is what Casagrande wrote in the catalog of Santarcangelo Festival this year: "We invited many artists able to act and communicate with the audience, breaking down the barriers that separate people inside the theater convention of "performing "and “watching” (...) I guess all the artists are as powerful as detonators, which, with few resources and sharp words “open” many doors and create bridges . This is what Motus basically represents.”
