Below you can find a summary of the opinion expressed by the Mayor of Rimini Ravaioli in what the noble district of Rimini Marina Centro is concerned.

The city has done very much in order to revive and redevelop Marina Centre, not only by making direct investments, but also by offering incentives for private business. Certainly one can not ignore this. Between 2004 and 2007 about 4 million Euros were invested for the development of Marina Center. No one can deny that the town of Rimini is committed to achieving this goal. Among the various achievements, we can mention the redevelopment of Vespuccci Avenue, the building of the Tourism Palace in Piazzale Fellini and the stretch of the road between Via Veneto and Via Dandolo Vespucci.

Not to mention the agreement reached with the owners of the Grand Hotel of Rimini for restructuring of the hotel, an elegant tourist structure. Certainly we can not fail to mention the construction of the the new Convention Center built for the. We can not deny that there is a problem, for example regarding the arrangement of the promenade. But both the public and the private sectors must do their job. We believe it was a right decision to entrust the design of the waterfront, perhaps one of the most important attraction of Rimini in the next 30 years, to some of the world’s leading architects, who have already made other great works in the world. The investment is worth it. And Rimini could benefit from this wonderful project for many fruitful years. Do not forget that Marina Centre will become the main hub that connects the historic center of Rimini and the south area of the city. We will create a park, the promenade will be closed to traffic, new parkings and new spas will be created by the sea.
