Lia Celi Meets Giorgio Napolitano

Today in Rome will take place the 150 years ceremony: women a better Italy. The ceremony combines in a single event the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the Unification of Italy and the International Women's Day. For the occasion, the Quirinale invited 300 women who have distinguished themselves in Italy for their commitment demonstrated in the fields of architecture, design, entertainment, scientific research, literature, voluntary and environmental protection. The writer Lia Celi is also invited.

Lia Celi was born in Parma, but lives in Rimini, where she worked for many years and distinguished herself in the field of literature. One of her last books, Anita Garibaldi, the biography of the wife of the hero of two worlds, received in 2007 the gold medal by the President of the Chamber of Deputies. This precious award was given to Lia Celi, as it tells an exciting and overwhelming story of Risorgimento. This book, designed primarily for children, is now used in many schools for the study of the history of the Risorgimento. The book edited by EL, the most important publishing house for children, had immediately a great success.
