The controversy over the sale of the Novelli theatre of Marina Centro continues. The town of Rimini would sell Novelli in order to finance the renovation of Galli Theater, but the district opposes explaining that it is a major cultural center, just as Galli is.
The council met on Tuesday in order to find a solution to this dilemma and have unanimously rejected the solution proposed by the Municipality.
The councilors of District 1 declare that the theater Novelli is of considerable importance for the culture of Marina Centre, and can not be transformed into another condominium. Novelli theater is a piece of history of Mariana Centre and enriches the area. The theatre located in via Cappellini was built in 1895 and renovated in 1968. It was opened in 1971 and it has become an important cultural attraction at seaside. For this reason, Paul Ciavatta, leader of the Democratic Party, insists that it is not wise to sell Novelli, but rather to revive it at use it also during the summer.
