Cesena Countryside Under Water: Inhabitants Evacuated.

The heavy rains in the Province of Rimini and Forlì Cesena, shorted out the traffic, flooding basements and underpasses, and most of the countryside of Cesenatico are under water. The greatest damage occurred around via Canale Bonificazione where fifty homes were flooded and a dozen families were evacuated . Things did not go better in the Madonna district either, in the streets Arno, Reno, Viola and Montaletto, where thirty families had to leave their homes. The evacuated families were initially accommodated in three hotels that have worked together to deal with the emergency flooding, after which they have returned to their homes, except a dozen families who have found accommodation to relatives or friends. The civil defense helped by the men of Gesturist and volunteers of Radio Rescue, have begun relief operation. They have rescued the families in difficulty, they have installed barriers in the underpasses and nevertheless they distributed thousands of sandbags to stem the flood channel. The extensive damage caused to families, homes, cultivated fields and farms, have prompted the City Council to request the "state of natural disaster."
