The thirty-first edition of the Rimini Meeting ended yesterday with a record number of people attending the event. Fiera di Rimini gathered 800 000 people, without counting more than three thousand volunteers who came from all over Italy and a dozen from foreign countries.
The Meeting is an important event for Rimini, but also for the entire world politically and socially speaking. This year it was concluded with great success. The organizers described the 2010 edition as memorable. It is an event capable to stir many emotions and attract many people. This year’s meeting gathered about 800 000 people coming from 29 different nations. Over 3000 volunteers from all over Italy and some foreign countries, came to the meeting for help. 130 meetings were held this year, eight shows were staged and 35 performances prepared;
The thing that drives us to desire great things is the heart, was the theme of 2010, which was attended by several ministers and Italian politics and from other countries, addressing topical issues like the crisis, the need to regain a positive outlook towards the reality and the need for change and recovery of social life. The Meeting was also attended by the Irish President McAleese and the European Commission President, Jose Manuel Barroso.
