Every Thursday, in the fishermen’s quarter, about 40 craftsmen with 40 agro-alimentary products, growers, and pedlars will take part in markets and exhibitions. For these occasions, many restaurants of Borgo Marina will present very interesting food and wine choices, offering the local traditional fish based cuisine or even recipes from the inland.
Tourists will have the chance to look around and to discover very interesting parts of the area near the historical Salt Storehouses and Saint Michael's Tower. The quarter called Borgo Marina has been built up along the canal, with the typical coloured fishermen’s houses, the ancient lighthouse built in 1875, the modern fish market, the old wholesale fish market, now the Fishermen’s Circle and Cooperative, and the historical Villa Igea, the centenary of which falls this year and which had Grazia Deledda, honorary citizen of Cervia who was awarded the Nobel prize, as a guest.
Book presentations and conferences on history and tradition every Thursday at 9.00 p.m. in Piazzale Aliprandi
